Sweet, sour or white, cherries are "in" during July all across the Finger Lakes. Elaine Walker would like to share her Cherry Cobbler recipe. The cobbler was served at Wood Library Cafe on June 25. Each cafe month we will be posting a new recipe. The next cafe will be held August 27 from 10am to 12pm.
CHERRY COBBLER
1 stick oleo
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
3/4 cup milk
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 can cherry pie filling (or other fruit filling)
Melt oleo in 9" square pan. Beat other ingredients and pour over oleo. Pour can of fruit over batter. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Enjoy!
For more information about which fruits and vegetables are in season go to Finger Lakes Agriculture.
