Author Michael Gorzka is a former Adult Services Librarian and visiting professor at the University at Buffalo. His company "Help for the Computer Shy" creates DVDs to teach adults how to use computers.

Bug of the Week on TV

The children's summer program "Bug of the Week" got a video Bright Spot on Channel 13 WHAM-TV. Bug of the Week introduces a different live critter each Monday morning at 10:30am in the Children's Room at Wood Library. The video highlights the Defenders of Wild Life, a pre-vocational community program sponsored by Bridges for Brain Injury, a new non-profit agency that just opened in June. Insect Invasion! The Bug Photo Show runs July thru August. See bugs REALLY close up in Wood Library's Community Room all summer long. Catch the Magic Bug

Magician David Moreland returns to Wood Library Monday, June 30 at 7:00PM. His amazing tricks are fun for the whole family. See the Incredible Moreland pull dozens of toy insects from a volunteer’s ear! His show is one of many insect-related activities planned by Wood Library as part of its summer reading program. Catch the Reading Bug!

Weave a web and catch the bug, the reading bug. This summer @ Wood Library. Children's Librarian Mary Ferris invites you to go to the Children's Page to see what's happening for children of all ages. Our summer schedule of programs will begin June 30th. What's the buzz? Reading is the way to have a great summer! We have lots of special programs to go along with the bug theme, including 3 reading clubs for children, crafts, movies, a magician and so much more. Each Monday morning, a new insect will move into the library to be our very special guest for a week. A zoologist from Wild Things will present a short program at 10:30 telling all about the bug.
