Out of this World! Exhibit at the Library

Come see what the naked eye was never meant to see! As L. David Wheeler from the Messenger Post says "Scenes from the great beyond." Read Wheeler's review of the ongoing show at Wood Library by the “astrophotographers” from Rochester’s Astronomy Club. It's the groups first show. Wood Library is pleased to host the exhibit. Call 394-1381 for best viewing times. Here is one of the photos by Joel Schmid from Rush, NY. To read the Messenger Post article click here.

'Unseen' Art: Photographer's Other Side

L. David Wheeler, editor of Steppin' Out writes: "Readers of the Canandaigua Daily Messenger are well acquainted with the work of Rikki Van Camp, the Messenger Post Media photo editor who’s provided the Daily Messenger and its affiliates with photographs since 1991.

But there’s another side to Van Camp than the dramatic landscapes you may have seen in the newspaper or on display in local galleries, stores and wineries. A March exhibit at Wood Library, called “Unseen,” will feature many of the Macedon artist’s three-dimensional, mixed-media pieces, which make use of canvas, wood, paper, metal, tree branches, plastic, paint, foam, photographs, clock parts — whatever suits the piece — and incorporate collage, woodworking, fish-printing techniques and more." Read more at the MPNow website.

Regional Photo Exhibit

The Finger Lakes Photography Guild is presenting an exhibit of fine art photography at Wood Library. The exhibit will be on display in the Library’s Community Room from December 2, 2008 through January 12, 2009. The public is invited to a reception with refreshments on Thursday, December 4, from 7pm to 9pm. The Guild is a collaboration of regional photographers that create artistic images which reflect a wide range of photographic techniques, styles and subjects. Visit the exhibit to see how different photographers view and capture life. Peter Blackwood, Wood Library's Exhibit Coordinator, arranged for the showing in the Community Room, 2nd Floor. Call 394-1381 for the best viewing times, as the Community Room is used for other events.
